Chuck Allison is taking you OFF Iowa's income tax rolls!

7/8/2004 - I'm Chuck Allison, the Republican, and I am running for John Connors' seat with the goal of taking you completely off of Iowa's income tax rolls. And here is how you benefit:

If you are retired and have NO EARNED INCOME, then you will not be taxed on your pension, Social Security, interest, dividends, or your capital gains.

If you are still working but saving for retirement, then my goal is to make certain that everything you save and invest for yourself will be your's to keep when you do retire, TAX-FREE.

If you are still working, then you will have the freedom to choose between filing the way you do now, with all your deductions, or you can file with your new DISCOUNTED rate at 5.72% of your EARNED income, with ALL your pension, Social Security, interest, dividends and capital gains being TAX-FREE. You decide which is best for you.

It works just like going to Hy-Vee, Fareway, or Wal-Mart. You will keep more of your money because Iowa will discount your taxes for you. But Iowa will have more money because, just like the stores, we will attract more people and businesses with our discounted taxes.

In fact, this is designed to put more money in your pocket; cause your property values to rise farther, faster, building real wealth for yourself and your family; increase the state's tax revenues solving the deficit problem and giving Iowa more money for the Senior's Trust, for education, or for whatever programs the public desires by growing our economy at the same time.

You can see the economic impact study by The Beacon Hill Institute online at www.iowansfordiscountedtaxes.org and I invite you to contact me with questions. But Beacon Hill forecasts almost 14,000 new jobs the first year, without charging anyone more in taxes, and $100 million of new tax revenue for the state.

When everyone benefits, everyone should support this rewarding solution.

Take yourself off the tax rolls by electing Chuck Allison November 2nd!
