The Goal: To communicate a tax plan that puts more money in everyone’s pocket, immediately; drives our property values higher, faster, building real wealth; grows Iowa’s economy by making our tax system and government more competitive, solves the deficit problem, and the benefits of which are easy to understand while putting opponents at a significant disadvantage.
Our current proposal is to discount Iowans’ income, property and sales taxes 15% across the board to put more money in your pocket; keep more Iowans and Iowa-based businesses from leaving, and to attract more residents and businesses from other states.
As just one example, Illinois is planning to raise taxes to pay for their massive deficits. If we discount our taxes now, we can rebuild Eastern Iowa with other people’s money instead of raising taxes on ourselves. We can also push money back into homes with young children so parents can be there more while those children need a parent’s guidance the most.
